Foreign travelers arriving at Incheon Airport immigration checkpoint

1. Understanding Incheon Airport Terminals

Incheon International Airport has Terminal 1 (T1), Terminal 2 (T2), and a Concourse connected by a shuttle train.

Your airline determines the terminal, so always check your e-ticket or the Incheon Airport website before traveling.

Arrival floor: 2F

Departure floor (check-in and baggage drop): 3F

If you land at the Concourse, take the free shuttle train (24 hours) to your correct terminal.

2. Arrival Procedures (For Foreign Travelers)

Step 1: Arrival and Terminal Transfer

Follow ARRIVAL / 입국 signs.

Concourse arrivals must take the terminal shuttle.

Step 2: Customs Declaration

Submit your Customs Declaration Form if required. Certain food, animal/plant products, and high-value goods must be reported.

Step 3: Immigration Inspection

No entry card is needed for Korean nationals and registered foreign residents (those who already registered in Korea)

Short-term visitors must complete an arrival card

Travelers 17+ must provide fingerprints and facial data

Step 4: Baggage Claim

Check the baggage belt using your flight number.

If your bag is missing or damaged, contact your airline’s baggage counter immediately.

Step 5: Exit to the Arrival Hall

Exit to 1F arrival hall, where transportation options (Airport Bus, Subway, Taxi) are available.

3. Departure Procedures from Incheon Airport

Step 1: Check Your Terminal

Verify your airline’s terminal before arriving. Some airlines use remote check-in options (i.e., Seoul Station City Airport Terminal).

Step 2: Check-in and Baggage Drop

Proceed to the airline counter on 3F.

Many airlines provide self check-in and self baggage drop, reducing wait time.

Step 3: Required Services Before Security

Before entering the security area, finish:

Currency exchange / ATM withdrawals

SIM card / eSIM / roaming service

Travel insurance

Tax refund (if applicable)

Once you enter duty-free area, you cannot return.

Step 4: Security Check + Passport Control

Proceed through the security checkpoint, then immigration.

After immigration, you will enter the duty-free zone and boarding gates.

4. How to Get to Seoul from Incheon Airport

Airport Limousine Bus

Buy tickets at 1F ticket counters or outside at bus stops.

Many routes run to Seoul and nearby cities.

Airport Railroad (AREX)

Connects Incheon Airport to Seoul Station.

Two types:

Express Train (Non-stop)

All-stop Train

Taxi / International Taxi

Only use official taxi stands outside the arrival floor.

Avoid private drivers approaching travelers—many demand illegal fees.

Foreign-language taxis are available (International Taxi).

Airport Shuttle Bus
